Privacy policy
What we do with your information when you contact us, and what this website records about you. Written in plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.
Who we are
Southridge Roofing & Groundworks, a roofing and groundworks contractor working across Beckenham, Chislehurst, Catford, Blackheath and the surrounding parts of South East London and North West Kent. This website does not collect your data
That is worth saying clearly, because most sites cannot. There is no database behind this website and no server that receives your details.
The quote form on the contact page runs entirely in your own browser. When you finish it, it opens either WhatsApp or your email app with a message already written out. Nothing is sent anywhere until you press send in that app. If you close the page halfway through, what you typed is gone and we never saw it.
What we hold once you contact us
When you call, text, WhatsApp or email us, we hold what you choose to tell us, which is usually your name, your phone number or email address, the address of the property, and a description of the work.
- Why we hold it: to price the job, arrange to visit, carry out the work and deal with anything afterwards.
- Our lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract once you accept a quote. Where we hold records for tax or insurance reasons, our lawful basis is our legal obligation.
- How long: enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted within twelve months. Records of completed jobs are kept for six years, because HMRC and our insurers require it.
- Who else sees it: nobody, unless we need a specialist subcontractor or supplier for your job, or the law requires us to hand something over. We do not sell or share your details for marketing, ever.
Messages you send us over WhatsApp are also processed by WhatsApp under their own privacy terms, in the same way an email sits on your email provider's servers.
Photographs
Every photograph on this website is of our own work. Where a job is at a private property we show the work, not anything that identifies who lives there. If your property appears on this site and you would rather it did not, tell us and we will take it down. You do not have to give a reason.
Cookies and measurement
This site sets no cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It is privacy-first and cookieless: it does not store anything on your device, does not follow you to other websites, and does not build a profile of you. What we see is aggregate numbers, such as how many people opened the roofing page or tapped the call button, never who you are.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we are using it. Email southridgeroofingandground@gmail.com and we will deal with it within one month, free of charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Changes
If we change how any of this works we will update this page. Last updated 31 July 2026.
